About Peptide Dosage Calculation

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that can have various effects on the body, from healing and tissue repair to stimulating growth hormone production. Proper dosing is critical for both efficacy and safety.

How Peptide Dosages Work

Peptide dosages can be calculated in two main ways:

  • Weight-based dosing: Some peptides like BPC-157 and TB-500 are dosed based on body weight (mcg per kg).
  • Fixed dosing: Others like GHRP-2 and Ipamorelin are often dosed at fixed amounts regardless of weight.

Reconstitution and Administration

Most peptides come as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder that needs to be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before use:

  1. Calculate the correct amount of bacteriostatic water to add to achieve your desired concentration.
  2. Use an insulin syringe for precision when measuring and injecting peptides.
  3. Most peptides are administered subcutaneously (into the fat layer under the skin).
  4. Some peptides work best when injected near the area being treated (like BPC-157 for injuries).

Important Safety Note: This calculator provides general guidelines based on commonly reported protocols in research and clinical practice. Individual responses may vary. Always consult with a healthcare professional before using peptides, as they may have side effects and might interact with medications or medical conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

The legal status of peptides varies by country and specific peptide. In many countries, peptides are legal for research purposes but not approved for human consumption. Some peptides are approved medications in certain countries for specific medical conditions. Always check your local laws and regulations before purchasing or using peptides.

To reconstitute peptides, you'll need bacteriostatic water, alcohol swabs, and insulin syringes. Clean the tops of both vials with alcohol swabs, draw the desired amount of bacteriostatic water into the syringe, and slowly inject it into the peptide vial, letting it run down the side of the glass rather than directly onto the powder. Gently swirl (don't shake) until completely dissolved. Store reconstituted peptides in the refrigerator (2-8°C).

Most reconstituted peptides remain stable for about 4-8 weeks when stored properly in the refrigerator (2-8°C). Some more fragile peptides may degrade faster. Factors that accelerate degradation include heat, light exposure, contamination, and frequent temperature changes. Always check for cloudiness or discoloration before use, as these may indicate contamination.

Subcutaneous (SubQ) injections deliver peptides into the fatty tissue just beneath the skin using a short needle (typically 5/16" to 1/2") at a 45-90° angle. Most peptides are administered subcutaneously. Intramuscular (IM) injections deliver substances directly into muscle tissue using a longer needle (1-1.5") at a 90° angle. IM injections generally have faster absorption rates but are rarely necessary for peptide administration.

Cycling patterns depend on the specific peptide and individual goals. Growth hormone secretagogues (like GHRP-2, GHRP-6, Ipamorelin) are often cycled to prevent receptor desensitization, typically 4-6 weeks on, 2-4 weeks off. Healing peptides like BPC-157 and TB-500 are typically used until the injury resolves (often 4-8 weeks) and then discontinued. Always follow specific protocols for your chosen peptide and consult with a healthcare professional.
